Is Weld County Ready?

Weld County Government has been working diligently before and since September 11, 2001, to plan and prepare for the needs of our citizenry. Much work has been done to bring all segments of the emergency response and first responder communities together, identify key agencies, and determine appropriate roles and responsibilities associated with incidents and events of significant magnitude. Additionally; the efforts thus far have helped identify available resources, while helping identify opportunities for organizations and agencies to share many things, including; technical expertise, tools, equipment, apparatus, supplies and human resources.

The State of Colorado has been divided into All-Hazards Emergency Management Regions. Weld County is located within the Northeast Region. Our partner counties include; Larimer, Morgan, Logan, Sedgwick, Phillips, Yuma, Washington, Kit Carson, Lincoln, and Cheyenne. Members of Weld County work with various representatives throughout this vast area to plan and prepare for the needs of the population, while also seeking and making application for Federal, and State Grant Funding Opportunities.

Weld County has, and continues to participate in many joint ventures with State, regional and local agencies and organizations as the ever changing nature of serving constituents mandates or otherwise requires. Change is a constant, and fortunately, Weld County is taking pro-active steps to assure a bright and safe future for citizens at all levels.
